Christopher Esh

Secretary-General

Christopher Esh has been involved with Model United Nations at the University of Washington beginning in 2007. Since joining the team, he has served as a delegate, head delegate, and as an officer. He was President of UW-MUN in 2009-2010 and Advisor in 2010-2011. Chris earned his B.A. in Political Science with an option in Political Economy from the UW in 2010. He has worked in communications for U.S. Representative Jim McDermott in Washington DC, and is a partner for a rapidly-growing construction materials company branching out nationally. Prior to serving as Secretary-General of NWMUN, Chris was Director-General of NWMUN 2010. He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA.

Kristina Mader

Director-General

Kristina Mader is in her fourth year on the Secretariat for NWMUN, previously having served as Director-General for NWMUN 2008 & 2009 and Secretary-General in 2010. She has been participating in Model United Nations for 11 years, including most recently at Western Washington University, where she founded and led the Model United Nations program for four years. Kristina currently works for the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security, a coalition of 15 international NGOs who collectively advocate for the protection and promotion of women's rights in conflict, specifically within the work of the UN Security Council.

Troy Liljedahl

Assistant Secretary-General for Conference Services

Troy Liljedahl joins the Secretariat of NWMUN 2011 this year after initially joining the NWMUN staff as Director of Public Information. Troy is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. Troy has extensive experience in the field of technology, and is bringing that to NWMUN 2011, which is his first ever Model United Nations experience. His experience in the field of technology includes holding positions at Elgato Systems and Apple Inc.

George Benson-Patterson

Assistant Secretary-General for Logistics

George joins the NWMUN Secretariat after two years of Model UN at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. George has also been an active board member of the Undergraduates of Political Science, the History Undergraduate Society, the Canadian International Council, and, of course, the campus MUN club. George is now pursuing a double major in Honors Political Science and History and will be writing his thesis next year. After finishing his undergraduate degree at UVic, George hopes to move to Montreal to work on graduate studies at McGill University.

Neil Rotta

Chief of Staff

Neil has been involved in Model United Nations for 7 years, and has served in a variety of capacities at both the high school and collegiate levels. The majority of his experience comes from his involvement with Model United Nations at the University of Washington, where he is the current President and has previously served in multiple other leadership positions. This is Neil's first time on the NWMUN Secretariat, though he has served as a Director, Chair or delegate at over 20 collegiate-level conferences. Neil will soon graduate from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Political Economy and Latin American Studies, with a Minor in History.
